Why is everyone looking for the Angel Matos video on youtube? Angel Matos a cuban Taekwondo Champ, was recently disqualified for Kicking an Olympic Referee in the head. Angel Valodia Matos of Cuba deliberately kicked a referee square in the face after he was disqualified in a bronze-medal match, prompting the World Taekwondo Federation to recommend he be banned for life. Matos, a 31 year old Cuban, was declared the loser of his 176-pound bout because he took more than the allowed one minute of injury time. The 2000 gold medalist then went after Swedish referee Chakir Chelbat, first pushing him and then delivering a kick to Chelbat’s face. The referee required stitches in his lip and the federation said it’s looking into legal action against Matos. Both Matos and his coach, Leudis Gonzalez, have been banned from any taekwondo matches, for life. See the cuban kicks referee video on you tube below.

Taekwondo officials called Matos’ behavior an insult to the Olympic vision. Matos’ coach countered that the match was fixed and accused the Kazakhs of offering him money. Castro said the alleged bribery attempt gave Matos good reason to expect the judges to treat him unfairly. “They had tried to buy his own coach,” Castro wrote in his essay published in state media. “He could not contain himself.”
